The Great North Run...

We've just got back from a fantastic weekend in Newcastle for the Great North Run which Helen took part in. The atmosphere was truly amazing and I have to say I was gutted not being able to take part. From the friendliness of the Jordies, spotting celebs, mingling with the elite athletes in our hotel and not forgetting the Red Arrows it felt like being part of one big family (all wearing tracksuits!)

Red Arrows over the Tyne
Our Police escort to the start!

Helen's there somewhere!
The one and only Jimmy!

Helen's in the pink top...!
At the 8 Mile point...

The Champion....2 Hours 7mins.
Thanks to everyone for their encouragement and best wishes...London Marathon next...?!

Well done Helen. You look really pleased with yourself, and u should be!

I am now officially back, because I've started posting comments. And near the bottom of your blog, there is a photo of Paul Heybourne singing into a microphone. He's not in your band is he?

It was a fabulous weekend and all the more so because it was my home territory - I am a geordie by birth!! Well done Helen, Dad and I are very proud of you too. I may be persuaded to join you to do it next year, but will get the Sandringham 10K done first!! Mum x
